Shopping Etiquette 101

Have you ever been looking at a rack of clothes when someone comes right up next to you trying to look at the same things? Or maybe you decided to put something back when checking out because you really don't need it and you can hear the person behind you sighing. I am going to try my best to keep this from turning into a rant, but shopping etiquette needs to be addressed.

1. Give people their space - I get so frustrated when I am looking at something and someone comes up and starts looking at the same thing. Give me the courtesy of looking at the rack of clothes that I am going through and when I am done, you may look, and vice versa. Whatever happened to the world of sharing. There is nothing worst than someone breathing down your neck when you're deciding if you want to purchase something.

2. Let people take their time - Checking out at a store can be a stressful process. You have to consider the total price of your purchase, return policies, etc., I try to be certain about everything that I am purchasing before I get in line, but sometimes you change your mind.
THAT'S OKAY!

I was checking out once and everything was getting pricey because of taxes and I decided I needed to put a few things back. The cashier was more than helpful and very polite. The woman behind me says, "You should have had all of this planned out, you're wasting my time." I'm sorry Miss but your time is no more valuable than mine or the cashier's or any of the hundred other people in the store. Thank you for making me, the cashier and everyone else uncomfortable and for making yourself look like a fool.

Whether you are waiting for someone to finish looking at something or waiting in line, just remember to be patient.
